Students interested to study a degree graduation course under Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University must be aware of all the know about of its admission process. The students can now register for IPU CET of their official website. The application filling date has been extended to 31st May 2022. Once the registration is over, the admit cards will be available on the official website of IPU, students can download the admit cards by signing in with their user name and password.
Once the examination takes place IPU has counselling process, through which students get their allocated college. Students can make a few payments of Rs 1000 to participate in the online counselling process. The First steps after the results are out is the Choice Filling step, in here you are expected to go through your candidate profile by signing in to your account on the IPU website and make changes, if you wish something is incorrect. In the step, you are also asked to enter 6 college preferences in the list. Make sure you are put the name of the colleges in the right order as your preference, because the system later checks it number wise and allots you the college. Once your choice filling is done you can save the details and wait for the results to arrive. There are 3 rounds of counselling that takes place under IPU. Once the results for round 1 counselling are out, and you get the college of your preference from the list you had added previously, if you are satisfied you can select satisfied and make the payment of 40K and download your allotment letter. The remaining fee of the college will be paid at the college at the time your reporting.
Students who are not satisfied with the college allotment can also make a payment of 40 k and wait for the second round result to arrive. In round 2 if you get an upgradation that is a better college from the preferred list you had mentioned you can go for that and in case you had already paid 40k you are not required to make the payment again.
Similar situation and cycle run through the round 3 result for college allocation to students. Most of the students get their preferred college within the 3 rounds. If you have a rank less than 2k make sure you put less college options under your preference list as the chances of you to get into the best college in a couple of rounds. During these rounds you have an option to either freeze the seat, or float your seat. If you do not like the colleges given to you, you choose the Float option.
Once the three rounds on counselling takes place, the sliding round comes into picture. Sliding round is allotted to the students who were earlier allocated at least one college in the previous three rounds of online counselling, the advantage of getting into the sliding round is that all the students now are considered equal. There is no reservation based of category, rank or Outside Delhi/NCR residency. The disadvantage is that now you need to take the college which is offered to you, and once you have entered the sliding round, you cannot ask for a refund.
The last round that everyone looks forward is the spot round, any student can register for spot round whether you have been allocated a college in the previous rounds or not, or whether you have registered for IPU counselling before you can still apply for the spot round. The fee for the spot round is relatively high but it gives you more chances to get a better college. Similar to the sliding round over here as well, students are taken as equal henceno reservation based of category, rank or Outside Delhi/NCR residency getting a preferred college depends on sheer luck.
