Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, formerly Indraprastha University is a state government university located in Delhi, Dwarka. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University conducts IPU CET exam every year so that students can apply to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in colleges that are affiliated to GGSIPU.
The full form of IPU CET is (Indraprastha University common entrance test ). Students join engineering, law, administration, computer application, journalism, mass communication, management, nursing, medical and many more fields. There are 120 colleges affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University of New Delhi. Out of 120 colleges, 35 colleges are government institutes affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. The remaining 85 colleges are self-financed institutes affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The colleges which are affiliated to IPU offer multiple undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses in multiple fields like engineering, management, nursing, medical, finance and many more.

Students have two options to get enrolled with IPU Colleges, one is through IPU Counselling and the other is Direct Admission.
When Student gets enrolled through Direct Admission
Students go through the college website and drop a query for admission. Then the student receives a call from the admission department. The admission manager speaks to students and parents to understand in which course the student is interested and check whether the student is eligible for admission or not. If the student is eligible then the student visits the campus and gets a college tour and gets to know about the facilities provided by the college. Then if the student and parents are happy with the college infrastructure, facilities and campus placements, then the student starts the admission process. Basic documents are submitted on the campus and the student pays the course fee and gets enrolled in the college through Direct Admission.
When Student gets enrolled through Counselling Process
When a student goes through the IPU counselling process. The student has to visit the IPU official website and register for the counselling process, then the student has to pay a counselling fee online. Then the student has to upload documents according to the application form. After that, document verification is done and then students can choose colleges which he/she like to join for undergraduate or postgraduate courses. The choice filling is a process where students choose some of the colleges which they like and want to get enrolled. Then the student has to wait for seat allotment through various rounds of counselling. After choice filling, the student joins the first round of counselling and waits for allotment of the college.
After a week or 10 days students come to know whether a college is allotted or not. If the college is allotted, then the student visits the college and checks that campus. If the student feels that is the best college and the student freezes the seat and if the student did not like the campus then the student floats. If the student is not happy with the college allotted, then the student enters the next round of counselling. until the student is happy about the allotment of college. The main important thing is that the student should be happy with the college he/she is allotted. There are various rounds of counselling – first round, second round, third round, sliding around and spot round. The counselling process takes 1-2 months.
