Candidates shortlisted on the basis of IPU CET entrance exam are called for counselling and seat allotment process. The allotment of seats will be on the basis of choices filled by the candidates and their position in the merit of IPU CET 2021 exam. Candidates who will be allotted seats will have to confirm their acceptance of the seat, pay the seat acceptance fee and report to the allotted institute within the specified date. GGSIPU Common Entrance Test authorities in general conduct the three rounds of seat allotment. In the first round, after the seat allotment declaration, candidates have three options:
- Freeze – refers to the state where a candidate is satisfied with the given option of college and would like to pursue further studies in that institution without participation in the further rounds of counselling.
- Float – a candidate can float the given seat in a particular college when he/she wants to explore more options in terms of course as well as college.
- Withdrawal – A student can withdraw his application even after allotment of the seat if he is not satisfied with the given option.
Students can always add / edit/ delete the options of choice filling after the round results. Candidates must check all the eligibility criteria for their preferred course before applying to the IPU Common Entrance Test. The choice filling is the most important part of the entire counselling. To be precise, the seat allotment or can say the entire future depends on the choice filling decision. However, the candidate can freeze the seat if satisfied and float if wants to explore more options.
Once the result of round one counselling session is declared, a student can freeze his/her seat for admission if he/she is satisfied with the given choice and the other option is float/withdrawal. Candidates who want to go for further rounds for counselling can either float their seats to explore the options or withdraw if unsatisfied.
