Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, formerly Indraprastha University is a state government university located in Delhi, Dwarka. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University conducts IPU CET exam every year so that students can apply to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in colleges which are affiliated to GGSIPU. Full form of IPU CET is (Indraprastha University common entrance test ). Students join engineering, law, administration, computer application, journalism, mass communication, management, nursing , medical and many more fields. Once the student qualifies IPU CET, the student is allotted a rank. On the basis of 10+2 and IPU CET rank admissions are done for undergraduate courses. Students may join undergraduate courses like BBA,BCA, B.Com(hons) and BJMC and many more.
Merit Admission through IPU
Admission can be done through counselling. When a student goes through the IPU counselling process, then the student has to participate in counselling by paying a fee online. Then the next step is registration, upload documents, document verification and choice filling (where students choose some of the colleges which they like and want to get admitted there). Then the student has to wait for seat allotment through various rounds of counselling. The counselling process takes 1-2 months time to get a college allotted. There are various rounds of counselling – first round, second round, third round, sliding round and spot admission. The main important thing is that the student should be happy with the college he/she is allotted. If the student is not happy with the college allotted, then the student enters the next round of counselling until the student is happy about the allotment of college. Admission is done through merit quota.
Management Quota through IPU
According to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Colleges affiliated to IPU can enroll students through management quota. University has mentioned that 25-30% seats are reserved for management quota. When a student does not want to go through the counselling process, the student or parents talk to the admission manager and get all the details over the telephone call. When students and parents feel that this is a great option for admission, then they visit the campus and get admission done. Right now because of the pandemic, online admissions are also going on. The documents required for admission are 10th , 12th mark sheet, IPU CET Admit Card, IPU CET Rank Card. Admission is done through management quota.
