GGSIPU conducts three rounds of counselling for the students who are qualified in the Common Entrance Test Exam. This exam is mandatory to take admission in IP colleges for undergraduate as well as graduate courses. Applicants can register themselves after the results of CET for the counselling, needed to provide all the personal and academic information, documents upload and fee payment given in the official website of IP University. After the declaration of second-round results, students can edit, modify, add, and delete the choices of colleges from November 3, 2021 to November 7, 2021. The results of third-round counselling will be declared on November 9, 2021.
Candidates who have registered in the previous rounds need not fill in any details again or pay the fee again after the document verification. Students can always make changes in the choices of colleges after the counselling results. The only difference is there is no option to withdraw the application after the third round result declaration. Until November 11, 2021, students can either freeze or float the seat after confirmation. Once the seat allotment is completed, the final candidates have to pay a partial academic fee of INR 40000 to ensure admission. Failing to do so can directly lead to the cancellation of admission. Neither the applicants can apply for the subsequent round of counselling. One can withdraw the application and participate in the sliding round in case of partial fee payment has been submitted.
While visiting the college, the candidate needs to carry some documents to finalize the admission to the respective college:

- Proof of payment
- Academic documents
- ID Proof
